Action to be taken against non-pattern number plates after April 15

Islamabad: Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) had launched 15-day campaign for awareness among road users to remove unauthorised or non-pattern number plates from their vehicles or bikes.

This campaign had been launched following directions of Minister for Interior Ch. Nisar Ali Khan with the purpose to ensure high alert security, maintain law and order situation in the capital.

The two days have been left in this campaign and after April 15, strict legal action will be taken against all those vehicles having non-pattern number plates. Such number plates would be considered as fake and fine would be imposed after expiry of awareness campaign.

The SSP (Traffic) had also sent letters to government and private organisations regarding this campaign. He has also appealed the citizens to cooperate with ITP and display authorized number plates issued by Excise and Taxation Office.
