One person has been killed and 16 others injured in a blast near Mission Chowk in Quetta, police said on Monday.
The injured have been taken to Civil Hospital, Quetta.
The blast took place at Jinnah Market, police confirmed. Most shops in the market are owned by Shia Hazaras.
A bomb disposal squad reached the scene to determine the nature of the blast, police said.
FC and police personnel cordoned off the area.
Balochistan Home Minister Zia Lango said that an enemy country is promoting terrorism in Balochistan. He was speaking to the media after the blast.
This is the third blast in Quetta in two weeks. Over 10 people have been injured and more than 70 injured in these explosions.
The injured include shopkeepers, customers and two children.
The deceased, a shopkeeper, has been identified as Abdul Hussain, son of Mohammad Haider. The names of some of the injured are Saeed Mohammad Ali, Farooq, Ali Jan, Hussain Ali, Abdul Hasan, Sirajuddin, Mohammad Ibrahim, Abbas Ali, Mohammad Ismail, Mohammad Ali, Salman Ali and Nadir Ali.
Three of the injured persons had not been identified till 11:30pm.
Doctors say two of the injured are in critical condition.
