11 more tested positive in twin cities taking tally to 205

Islamabad : As many as 10 new patients have been tested positive for coronavirus illness, COVID-19 in the federal capital in last 24 hours while only one patient was confirmed positive for the disease from Rawalpindi on Thursday taking total number of confirmed patients of the disease so far reported in the twin cities 205.

Data collected by ‘The News’ on Thursday has revealed that confirmation of 10 more patients positive for COVID-19 from Islamabad Capital Territory has taken the total number of confirmed patients reported in ICT 102 of which 10 have recovered while the infection has claimed one life in Islamabad so far.

With the confirmation of another patient positive for coronavirus illness in Rawalpindi, the total number of patients so far reported in the district came to 103 of which two have died of the infection and as many as eight have recovered.

On Thursday, one patient in the district was in critical condition who was being given ventilator support in Corona Management Centre at Rawalpindi Institute of Urology according to district health department.

Data reveals that as many as 91 patients in the federal capital were active cases of COVID-19 on Thursday while in Rawalpindi, the number of active cases was 93 making total number of active cases in the twin cities 184.

It is worth mentioning here that on Thursday, there were only 134 active cases of COVID-19 in Balochistan province while 114 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

All the 93 confirmed patients being taken as active cases have been undergoing treatment in CMC at RIU and Benazir Bhutto Hospital in Rawalpindi district where well over 240 persons have been under quarantine including 200 at their homes and over 40 in quarantine facilities at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi and Fatima Jinnah Women University.
