3 persons shot dead, 2 injured in firing incident in Attock
Attock-Three persons have been shot dead while two received multiple bullet injuries in village Lakarmar in the jurisdiction of Injra police station by the killers clad in FC uniforms. This sad incident which claimed three lives in broad day light spread a sense of insecurity and panic in whole the area. The assailants who were on three motorbikes escaped easily from the crime scene after committing the crime despite the availability of Lakarmar checkpost which is hardly 500 meters away. Police on the information of the legal heirs of those killed registered FIRs and are on the hunt to arrest the killers. Those killed include Waheed Ullah and Hanif r/o Lakarmar and Akbar r/o Shakardara Kohat. Those shot injured include Tasleem Jan and Muhammad Sultan r/o Lakarmar. The dead and injured were shifted to THQ Hospital Jand for autopsy and medical aid. DPO Attock Rana Shoaib along with DSP Jand Tafseer Hussain and SHO Injra Mazhar Islam visited the crime scene and constituted teams to arrest the killers.
As per the FIRs, the motive behind the murder of two persons is enmity while the third one was innocent who was standing nearby and got hit by the bullets during indiscriminate firing by the culprits while an innocent woman was also injured. As per the two different FIRs registered by Injra police, the killers which include Mehboob Shah, Javed Hussain, Nasir Hussain and Shah Jahan all r/o Shakardara Kohat Javed Ghazi r/o Mochi Kirri and an unknown person were wearing FC uniforms, riding bikes and were armed with Kalashnikovs. They all committed the crime and escaped towards village Tora Bera situated on river Indus. As per a police officer who did not want to be named told this journalist that DPO Attock Rana Shoaib has taken serious notice and expressed his annoyance over this tragic incident as how the hard core criminals reached this area that too riding bikes and wearing FC uniforms. Sources said that the incident will be investigated in depth and if there was some lapse on the part of police then strict action will be taken. Police sources said that the culprits will be arrested soon as their clues have been found. On the other hand, people of the area who requested anonymity told this journalist that this area had become a safe haven for local drug peddlers and proclaimed offenders.
They demanded that a search and combing operation must be launched in the area as even now out siders are living in this area as no one informs police about the bio data of the outsiders and said that the reason was casual attitude of the police. They said people load their bikes on boats and cross river Indus and without any fear and freely roam in this area which is a matter of concern. They said in this incident a young innocent man was also shot dead and an innocent woman was injured and certainly police are at fault. They demanded that not only the criminals involved in this gruesome incident must be brought to justice but also the cops deployed in Injra police station, at Makhad riverine post and Lakarmar checkpost must also be investigated at appropriate level. PRO Attock police told this journalist that DPO Attock has constituted different teams to arrest the killers while other complaints are also being looked into.
