  • July 24, 2021

Islamabad   –  A court of law on Tuesday sent Usman Mirza along with his three gang members to Adiala Jail on 14-day judicial remand in couple torture case.

The investigators of Police Station (PS) Golra, under command of Station House Officer (SHO) Sub Inspector Asim Ghaffar, produced the four accused before Duty Magistrate Raja Farrukh Ali Khan after expiry their four-day physical remand. The investigators pleaded the judge to grant extension in the physical remand of the accused for further investigation.

However, the defense lawyers opposed the plea of police for more physical remand and argued before court that police have been already granted remand of the accused for more than 10 days. The defense lawyers requested the court to send the accused on judicial remand. Prosecutor Sajid Cheema told the court that police have showed the arrest of Adaras Qayyum Butt in a physical assault case. A case against him was also arrested in Police Station (PS) Industrial Area. After conclusion of the arguments of both parties, Duty Magistrate Raja Farrukh Ali Khan had rejected the plea of police of granting extension in remand of Usman Mirza and three other accused and sent them to Adiala Jail on 14-day judicial remand. It may me noted that PS Golra held Usman Mirza and his gang members on charges of torturing and stripping a couple in a flat at E-11/2 a couple of days ago besides recording their videos and receiving extortion. So far, six accused have been arrested by police in the case.
