Rawalpindi – City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younas has ordered establishment branch to prepare a list of dismissed cops and to display in the police stations besides keeping a watch on their activities.
He also said police are going to launch an awareness campaign against use of drugs in the educational institutions. “Street crime and car theft cases have decreased in the district because of effective policing,” said CPO Muhammad Ahsan Younas at meet the press held here on Monday.
SSP Investigation Ghazanffar Ali Shah, SSP Operations Rana Shohaib, Chief Traffic Officer Rai Mazhar, SP Potohar Division Tassawar Iqbal and SP Rawal Division Zia Uddin Ahmed were also present on the occasion.
CPO said that there were some reports about involvement of dismissed cops in crime and he had asked the establishment department to prepare a list of all the cops who have been dismissed from service.
He said the lists will be displayed in all the police stations of district and SHO will monitor the activities of the dismissed cops.
He said he is regretting that he could not engage the students of universities, colleges and schools in awareness campaign against use of drugs.
“I will launch a special campaign in educational institutions to aware the students against evils of use of drugs,” he said.
He said the crime rate has decreased in Rawalpindi district because of effective policing. CPO Muhammad Ahsan Younas, however, admitted that police have failed in curbing the increase of motorcycles theft.
