DIG Operations suspends SHO over misconduct

ISLAMABAD   –   Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Operations Afzaal Ahmed Kauser has suspended Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station (PS) Nilore Inspector Abdul Sattar Baig on charges of misconduct and inefficiency, informed a police spokesman here on Tuesday.

The top cop of Islamabad police has also closed Inspector Abdul Sattar Baig to Rescue 15, he said.

A notification in this regard has also been issued, he mentioned.

According to him, DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmed Kauser has received scores of public complaints against the SHO PS Nilore Abdul Sattar Baig. 

He said the heirs of a young man, video of whom went viral on social media showing some goons of torturing and sexually assaulting him, also approached DIG that SHO was not arresting the accused despite filing a case against them. 

Taking action, DIG Operations suspended the SHO PS Nilore and closed him to Rescue 15. On the other hand, Sub Inspector (SI) Haider has been posted as new SHO PS Nilore by the DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmed Kauser, according to police spokesman.
