Moon observatory established in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD – To monitor the movement, direction and size of moon correctly, moon observatory has been established in Islamabad and Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry will inaugurate it on 12th April.

The moon observatory has been established near Pakistan Monument and adjacent to Shakar Parian. Through this moon observatory, movement of moon will be recorded correctly, which will help out in determining Islamic calendar.

On instructions of Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry, a mobile application “The Ruet” has also been introduced. In a very small period of time, more than 70,000 people have downloaded this application. Through this installed app, every individual through their android mobile phones can consult Islamic calendar about Ruet of moon in view of its direction, movement and size. Earlier, Fawad Chaudhry met Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad and resolved to make efforts to ensure consensus for Ramadan and Eid moon in the country.

Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad also pledged to attend 12th April ceremony for inauguration of moon observatory in Islamabad.

Minister for Science and Technology said we are making efforts to make consensus on Ramadan and Eid moon in the country with assistance of scientific knowledge.

Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, Central Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal Committee also installed Ruet application in his mobile phone.

Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad said that Ministry of Science and Technology and Ruet-e-Hilal Committee are working together for moon sighting in the country.

Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal Committee also lauded efforts on part of Fawad Chaudhry in science sector in the country.
