ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday held India responsible for the attack on Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) in Karachi and said it was planned to destablise Pakistan.
The prime minister was addressing the National Assembly, where he lauded the security forces for thwarting the attack, which could have otherwise caused considerable destruction.
“There is no doubt that India is behind the attack,” PM Imran said. “For the last two months my cabinet knew (there would be an attack) I had informed my ministers. All our agencies were on high alert,” he added.
The prime minister paid respect to the martyrs of the attack, which included a policeman and three security guards of the stock exchange.
The militants planned the attack to take hostages as the Mumbai attackers did in India, the prime minister said.
