Rupee sheds 11 paisas vs dollar

ISLAMABAD – The exchange rate of Pakistani rupee depreciated by 11 paisas on Thursday against the US dollar in interbank trading and closed at Rs166.98 as compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs166.87. According to Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs167.5 and Rs168.5 respectively. Similarly, the price of euro appreciated by 64 paisas and closed at Rs197.80 against the last day’s trading of Rs197.16, the State Bank of Pakistan reported. The Japanese Yen remained unchanged to close at Rs1.51, whereas an increase of 67 paisas was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs 230.21 as compared to its last closing of Rs 229.56. The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by 03 paisas each to close at Rs 45.46 and Rs 44.52 respectively.
