Rupee sheds 67 paisas against dollar

ISLAMABAD  –  The exchange rate of Pakistani rupee weakened by 67 paisas against the US dollar in the interbank trading on Tuesday and closed at Rs158.18 as compared to the previous day’s closing of Rs157.51. According to Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs 157.9 and Rs 158.9 respectively. Similarly, the price of euro appreciated by 84 paisas and closed at Rs188.16 against the last day’s trading of Rs187.32, the State Bank of Pakistan reported. The Japanese Yen remained unchanged to close at Rs1.43, whereas an increase of Rs 1.67 was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs219.46 as compared to its last closing of Rs217.79. The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by 17 paisas each to close at Rs43.06 and Rs42.18 respectively.
