Stock market loses 300 points

ISLAMABAD – The KSE 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bearish trend on Thursday, losing 300.36 points, with a negative change of 0.66 per cent, closing at 45,296.88 points against 45,597.24 points on the last working day. A total of 443,777,435 shares were traded during the day compared to the trade of 583,732,514 shares the previous day whereas the price of shares stood at Rs12.381 billion against Rs17.392 billion the previous day. As many as 514 companies’ transacted shares in the stock market, 143 of them recorded gain and 349 sustained losses whereas the share price of 22 companies remained unchanged. The three top trading companies were WorldCall Telecom with a volume of 89,120,000 shares and price per share of Rs 2.95, Hum Network with a volume of 29,216,500 and price per share of Rs 6 and Telecard Limited with volume of 23,400,000 and price per share of Rs18.89. Sapphire Fiber witnessed a maximum increase of Rs 60 per share, closing at Rs 860. The runner up was Abbot Lab, the share prices of which climbed up by Rs 47.26 to Rs 788.72.
