Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino & Wife Lauren Launch New Series On Their YouTube Channel For This Reason
After spending eight months in federal prison for tax evasion and eating some of the worst food of his life, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino found inspiration. Recently, Mike and his wife Lauren launched a new series on their “The Situations” YouTube Channel called Eating Our Best Life, which features the couple enjoying their favorite cheat meals from various fast food restaurants.
“I actually thought up this concept while I was in prison for about eight months,” Mike explained to Us Weekly. “You don’t really get good food in prison. So for eight months I was like, ‘You know what? When I get out of prison, I’m going to pretty much eat my best life, like weekly, in a limo.’ And here we are, months later we filmed a whole bunch of episodes already and it’s really picking up steam and the subscribers really love it and we love to film it as well.”
The couple’s YouTube channel is growing and already has 115,000 subscribers. They have already visited Sonic, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Chick-Fil-A for the series. And, in their most recent video, they “shut down” Moe’s Southwest Grill and enjoyed all of their favorites on the menu.
The couple ordered of six tacos, a “homewrecker” burrito, a “big bowl” of queso, chips with guacamole, two quesadillas, nachos with ground beef, and a Stack – which is two crunchy corn tortillas inside a grilled flour tortilla that is stuffed with beans, cheese, pico de gallo, and queso.
Mike says that he is excited about their YouTube channel’s progress, and he and Lauren enjoy the “fun, cool little segment” where they get to eat their best life. He says that fans are already asking them to expand the series with guests, and they plan to enjoy about ten fast food restaurants before they move onto pizza and other things.
Mike also likes the idea of having guests, and he thinks it would be fun for people to join them in the limo and take him and his wife to their favorite fast food place or restaurant.
“That will be really cool to see who likes what and things like that and pretty much live our best life that way,” said Mike.
In addition to enjoying good food, Mike and Lauren love that they get to spend more time together after spending eight months apart during their first year of marriage. The couple tied the knot in November 2018, and Mike reported to prison in January 2019 and served eight months before his release in September 2019.
Mike Sorrentino says that he and Lauren are opposites, but they believe they balance each other out well on screen. He said that he was so proud of his wife because she is leading the charge and doing the intros on YouTube, and he is excited about their channel’s future, as well as the other projects they have in the works this year.
“It definitely has brought us closer together,” said Sorrentino.
New episodes of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation will return to MTV later this year.
