Oprah Winfrey Reveals Why She And Stedman Graham Never Got Married Despite 4 Decades Of Relationship And More!
This is somehow an age-old question still, even though it feels like the TV personality has answered it before! Oprah Winfrey and her boyfriend Stedman Graham have been together for many, many years and yet, they haven’t taken their relationship to another level by tying the knot and people are wondering why that is!
Now, during an interview with O Magazine, Oprah simply revealed that she ‘didn’t actually want a marriage’ and it’s just truly as simple as that!
Furthermore, she also went on to discuss her longtime relationship with Stedman in more detail for the publication.
The two have been together for no less than 40 years and the man even popped the big question back in 1993.
Oprah recalls, however, that ‘the moment I said yes to his proposal, I had doubts. I realized I did not actually want a marriage. I wanted to be asked…wanted to know he felt like I was worthy of being his missus, but I did not want the sacrifices, the compromises, the day-in and day-out commitment required to make a marriage work.’
Fans know all too well that, all these years, Oprah’s number one priority has always been her career and helping out the world through her ever-growing platform.
Besides, she and her partner know all too well that they do not need a ring or a marriage license to make their relationship valid or to make it work.
‘Our relationship works because he created an identity beyond being ‘Oprah’s man,’’ the star mentioned during the interview.
