Complaint filed against Deepika Padukone, Karan Johar in drug scandal
Deepika Padukone and Karan Johar are among a slew of latest Bollywood celebs to get dragged into the drug scandal following actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and the subsequent investigation into the drug angle in the case reported Mumbai Mirror.
A former Indian MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa filed a complaint with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) against the two Bollywood bigwigs on Tuesday, urging them to investigate an alleged ‘drug party’ hosted by Johar earlier.
The party at Johar’s that is being referred to had attracted significant controversy last year around July after some clips from the night went viral. According to some, including Sirsa, celebs at the party were heavily drugged. According to Sirsa, a thorough probe into this party can ‘open a pandora’s box’ for the SSR investigation that is already underway.
“I met Sh. Rakesh Asthana, Chief of NCB at BSF headquarter, Delhi regarding submission of complaint about investigation and action against film producer @karanjohar and others for organizing a drug party at his residence in Mumbai. That party video must be investigated!” Sirsa tweeted.
He also attached a picture of the letter that he’s submitted to the NCB, naming several other Bollywood personalities. “Complaint against Karan Johar, Deepika Padukone, Vicky Kaushal, Malaika Arora, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, and Shahid Kapoor among others for consumption, possession, and allowing premises to be used for commission of offenses cognizable in nature under chapter IV of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985,” the letter read.
Sirsa also claimed that he had first filed a complaint citing the video back in August 2019 but it failed to spark an investigation. Johar had also responded to Sirsa’s allegations back then, rubbishing the claims about a ‘drug party’ saying that it was “just a bunch of friends enjoying an easy night out after a hard week.”
