Bollywood starlet Deepika Padukone has tested positive for the novel coronavirus and is currently isolating with her family in Bangalore, reported Times of India. The news came shortly after it was revealed that the actor’s father Prakash Padukone, her mother Ujalla and sister Anisha had tested positive for Covid-19. Prakash has reportedly been hospitalised after contracting the infection and is currently on the road to recovery.Vimal Kumar, a close friend of the Padukone family shared, “Around 10 days back, Prakash, his wife and second daughter (Anisha) developed symptoms and got themselves tested. The results came out to be positive. He is okay now. All his parameters are fine, his wife and daughter are at home and he too will be hopefully discharged in two to three days.”

Details of Deepika’s current condition are not yet known. She flew to Bengaluru with her husband and actor Ranveer Singh in April to spend time with her family after the government of India announced a two-week lockdown in the state of Maharashtra. The couple was photographed at the airport before taking off.

Deepika has been vocal about the mental health implications of the pandemic, recently taking to her Instagram to share a few mental health helplines that people can turn to during this difficult time. The actor captioned the post by saying, “As millions of us (me and my family included) strive to stay afloat, let us not forget that our emotional well-being in this current crisis, is equally important! Remember; You are not alone. We are in this together. And most importantly, there is hope!”
