Shah Rukh Khan’s office turned into ICU for Covid-19 patients

Shah Rukh Khan’s office space in Khar, Mumbai has now been converted into an ICU for critical Covid-19 patients, reported Filmfare.

Earlier in April, SRK and his wife Gauri announced that they had converted the space into a quarantine facility for Covid-19 with the help of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). It was then reported that by mid-July, work had begun to upgrade it into an ICU, and the quarantined patients had been relocated.

According to reports, the facility boasts of 15 beds and has been operational since August 8 with help from SRK’s Meer Foundation, Hinduja Hospital in Khar, and the BMC.

“It has been equipped with ventilators, oxygen lines, high flow nasal oxygen machines, and liquid oxygen storage tanks for high-risk and critical patients. The service will be run by Hinduja Hospital under the guidance of the BMC,” said Dr. Avinash Supe of the Hinduja Hospital Khar.

The earlier quarantine facility had 66 patients admitted there. 54 were discharged after they had recovered and tested negative, whie12 patients had to be transferred to other facilities before the upgrade, reported Filmfare.
