Lahore claim Inter-Board Girls Sports trophy
ISLAMABAD: Lahore Educational Board scooped up Inter-Board Girls Sports Championship title winning 14 medals including eight gold on the concluding day Thursday.
In all Lahore took eight gold, five silver ad one bronze medal. Lahore Board defeated Islamabad 4-0 in hockey final with Gujranwala taking third position by beating Faisalabad 3-1. In badminton final, Intermediate Board Karachi defeated Islamabad Board 2-0. In the third position match, Abbottabad got better of Faisalabad 2-0.
Islamabad beat Mirpur Kashmir 2-0 volleyball final. Rawalpindi Board defeated Lahore 2-0 to finish third. In the 200m race, Lahore’s Sanina took first position with her teammate Amtal Rehman taking second and Radha Tariq (Sargodha) getting third. In discus throw, Aisha Qadir (Sargodha) took first position. Islamabad Board Asea taking second position.
Lahore also won gold in 4X400m relay. Faisalabad finished second with Sahiwal taking third. Amjad Ali Khan Niazi National Assembly Standing Committee for Defense was the guest of honour at the prize distribution ceremony. Prof Shahid Munir Jarrar of Mirpur (Azad Kashmir), Agha Amjadullah Deputy Director General PSB, Muhammad Azam Dar, Deputy Director General (Tech), Mohammad Ramzan Jamali and Ghulam Shabbir Channa were also present on the occasion. Organising Secretary IBSC Makhdoom Irshad Ahmed, Ghulam Taqi Khan Bosan and Mohammad Sabir Khan Director Sports Men also distributed medals and prizes among the players.
