Baseless allegations: FIR purebred opposite Geo owner, anchors
KARACHI: On a gauge of an anti-terrorism justice (ATC), Sindh Police on Saturday night purebred a box opposite Geo TV’s owner Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman, Pemra Chairman Absar Alam and a channel’s dual anchors – Najam Sethi and Muneeb Farooq.
The FIR No 24/17 was lodged on a censure filed on Jan 25 by a citizen, Gul Khan –a proprietor of Steel Town. The complainant pronounced Najam Sethi and Muneeb Farooq in Geo TV’s show ‘Aapas Ki Baat’ ‘hatched a conspiracy’ by hurling groundless allegations opposite a military, supervision and judiciary.
He explain both anchorpersons did it on a insistence of a channel’s owners while Pemra authority was also concerned in a act as he did not take any movement opposite a channel. “Pemra does not take any movement opposite shows in that Pakistan Army, judiciary, supervision and confidence institutions are maligned,” he charged.
