It Didn’t Take Long for Facebook Marketplace to Get Weird

Yesterday, Facebook launched a newest underline called Marketplace — a approach aspirant to a widely renouned Craigslist. The thought was to take a “buy and sell” groups that 450 million users are already regulating and emanate a whole new add-on in a app for peer-to-peer shopping.

Much like Craigslist, a thought was to emanate a common space for people to buy and sell products in an easy to use, protected environment. And most like Craigslist, that didn’t final long. Within a day, a Marketplace was flooded with ads for drugs, sex, animals, and a series of other uncanny things that are ostensible to be criminialized from a app.
