The Metro Bus Service and bus stands at Faizabad would remain closed till evening on 23rd March due to Pakistan Day Parade at Parade Ground here.
According to the plan chalked out by the district administration the marriage halls in the area would also be closed to ensure fool-proof security arrangements for this prestigious event. Vacation of medics in nearby hospitals have been cancelled while five seminaries near the parade ground have been sealed.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Captain (r) Mushtaq Ahmed said they would thoroughly check details of people staying in guest houses and hotels in the surroundings of the parade venue.
Based on instructions from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), internet service providers (ISP) have informed their customers that internet services would be shut down on March 23 for a specific period.
The Faizabad junction will be closed to traffic for Islamabad as part of the security plan for Pakistan Day, and traffic will be diverted to the Stadium Road. The entry of heavy vehicles into Rawalpindi will also be banned.
Rawalpindi Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) said that due to the closure of the Faizabad junction, traffic to Islamabad from Benazir Bhutto Road would be diverted to the Stadium Road and then on to 9th Avenue.
