No foreign medical programme or degree recognised in country, says PMC

ISLAMABAD-The Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) on Saturday announced that no foreign medical programme or degree is recognised in Pakistan by the commission.

In its statement, the PMC said that it has been brought to the notice of the PMC that some tuition/coaching centres are falsely claiming to be medical schools and offering foreign medical degree programmes including foreign MBBS degrees such as Chinese degree programmes in Pakistan claiming to be Pakistani campus of foreign universities.

No foreign medical programme of study or degree including MBBS/BDS which is conducted and taught in Pakistan irrespective of where the exam is taken will be recognised under any circumstances. These programmes and degrees are not recognisable as medical qualification or equivalent to any medical qualification in Pakistan.

Any institute offering such foreign programmes and degrees for study in Pakistan are doing it illegally and without any authority and are not recognisable by the PMC.

Prospective students are warned not to enrol in such fraudulent and illegal programmes being offered as these will not be recognised in Pakistan.

One programme advertised by Danishgah school of medical sciences offering Chinese MBBS degree of Henan University, China is not recognised by the PMC as a valid degree equivalent to MBBS/BDS and Danishgah school of medical sciences is not a medical school registered with the relevant authorities and is not recognised by the PMC.
