Islamabad Industrial Association delegation visits National Accreditation Council

ISLAMABAD   –  A delegation of Islamabad Industrial Association visited the newly established National Accreditation Council (NAC) at NAVTTC headquarters and met with Executive Director, NAVTTC, Dr. Nasir Khan and discussed TVET sector related issues.

Executive Director NAVTTC, Dr. Nasir Khan apprised the delegation about NAVTTC’s initiatives which will be helpful to produce skilled workforce suitable to the local industry as well as international job market. In this regard, he told the delegation about the apprenticeship programme, inclusion of soft skills as a mandatory part of training curriculum, offering 300 hi-tech trades for 2nd batch of training programme and creation of National Employment Exchange Tool. Further, the Executive Director highlighted the significance of recently established National Accreditation Council to improve the TVET sector regime in the country.

The members of Islamabad Industrial Association lauded the initiatives of NAVTTC to modernise the technical training system and assured full support to bridge the gap between public and private sectors to enhance quality of TVET stream in the country.

 The delegation also appreciated the efforts of NAVTTC in establishing the National Accreditation Council and agreed to make it an effective and vibrant body.

Chairman National Accreditation Council, Mian Waqas Masud welcomed the valuable suggestions of delegation and agreed to develop close liaison between public and private sectors to achieve the desired objectives.  

The delegation included Mr. Tariq Sadiq, President Islamabad Industrial Association, Mian Akram Farid, Chairman Skill Development Council, Islamabad and GB, Ms. Fatima Azeem, Acting President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and a number of renowned industrialists.
