ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has been continuing a campaign against violation of the Standard Operating Procedures to contain the spread of the Coronavirus and arrested six persons for violation of the same.
According to details, AC (Secretariat) along with Islamabad police, ITP, Excise Department, representatives of the traders association and Tiger Force conducted awareness campaign about the third wave of Covid-19 in the areas of Bhara Kahu and Simly Dam Road. General public was sensitised about the threat of the pandemic.
Bus stands, shops, restaurants were also checked for price-control and un-authorised use of polythene bags. The violators were fined and warned as per law, according to officials. They said a restaurant owner was also arrested for violating directions of the NCOC.
Similarly, Assistant Commissioner (Rural) and his teams, along with Tiger Force and secretaries UCs visited different areas of Rural/Koral division. Team-1 visited various areas of Khanna and Sohan to check violation of the SOPs. Two persons were arrested while Maryam Shaadi Hall was also sealed by the team on indoor wedding function. The officials said that Team-2 visited the area of Soan Garden and Pakistan Town Phase-II and checked different offices, shops and restaurants. One person was shifted to a police station on violation of the SOPs.
All the main markets were closed except essential commodity shops. Team-3 visited the area of Rawat to ensure the implementation of SOPs in the area. They visited Sabzi Mandi and wagon station Rawat and distributed masks among the public.
Team-4 inspected the Korang weekly Bazar and Korang Town and arrested two persons and shifted them to the police station over violation of the SOPs. Similarly, Assistant Commissioner (Rural) with teams also visited the locked down area of DHA-II. An active awareness campaign under UCs was also supervised in all the rural areas.
