Saudi Arabia apologizes for not honoring London Bridge victims during football match

“The players did not intend any disrespect to the memories of the victims or to cause upset to their families, friends or any individual affect by the atrocity,” the Saudi Football Federation’s statement said.

The Saudi Federation expressed regret over the actions of its players and “any offense caused” it may have caused.

“The Saudi Arabian Football Federation condemns all acts of terrorism and extremism and extends its sincerest condolences to the families of all the victims,” the statement added.

Footage of the Saudi team refusal to honor the minute’s silence in Australia, Thursday, was released by several media sites, sparking outrage across the world.

Australia would ultimately win the match 3-2.
