Responding to the premier’s order, the Water and Power Ministry summoned the supply and demand figures from all the power distribution companies, and assured the prime minister that no load-shedding would take place during the cricket match.
Similarly, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah contacted senior officials at K-Electric, the port city’s sole power company, and directed them to ensure no load-shedding is carried out during the match. Shah said power to residential areas should be supplied on a preferential basis.
The chief minister hoped the Pakistan cricket team would win the match as a gift to the nation on Eidul Fitr.
