In a statement issued in Islamabad on Wednesday, he also denounced reports that the present government in four years period has added 35 billion dollars to external debt of the country and loans amounting to over one billion dollars were obtained in a single year during the last year.
The Spokesman clarified that the figure of 79.2 billion dollars is a mere projection and includes private sector external debt and liabilities as well.
He said the actual external public debt as of end-March this year is 58.4 billion dollars.
He said nominal increase in external public debt as of end-March this year is only 10.3 billion dollars averaging at 2.57 billion dollars per annum.
The spokesman said that the net increase in external public debt till end of March this year was only 700 million dollars during the last fiscal year.
