A day after Ayesha Gulalai quit as PTI MNA, the party spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry dealt her some deplorable blows in defence of PTI.
Chaudhary, during a press conference on Wednesday, attacked Gulalai’s doublespeak and accusation against Imran Khan for ‘westernising’ Pakistan by insinuating that her squash player sister (Maria Toorpakai Wazir) also wears shorts in tournaments.
“Ayesha says Imran is trying to bring the London culture in Pakistan, but her own sister Maria Toorpekai, who is a squash player wears shorts in tournaments,” he said.
Soon after Chaudhry’s comments, Gulali took to Twitter to express her anger: “Shame on PTI Spokesperson Fawad to bring up my sister Maria Toorpekai’s attire. Maria is top squash player. She has made Pakistan proud.”

Gulalai, while tendering her resignation, has levelled serious harassment charges against Imran Khan, saying that he sent her and other women party workers lewd messages.
The furore over her allegations has escalated and both the sides are engaged in a bitter war of words.
Yesterday, a lawyer Raja Basharat filed a petition in the Election Commission of Pakistan, seeking Imran Khan’s disqualification on the basis of the “shameful” allegations of harassment.
On the other hand, PTI suspended her party membership and sent a legal notice to her for the allegations.
Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami has offered Gulalai to join the party. JI senior leader Liaqat Baloch said that his party will provide Gulalai an ‘honourable platform’.
She has yet to respond to the offer. – Samaa
