Islamabad: Anti-encroachment drive of Capital Development Authority (CDA) is in full-swing, under which the authority has conducted 125 anti-encroachment operations against illegal constructions and encroachments in month of July, 2017.
Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz said that all out efforts would be made to restore natural grace of the city. Anti-encroachment drive will remain continue till complete elimination of encroachments from the city, he added.
While expressing satisfaction over the results of Anti-encroachment drive, Mayor directed the Director Enforcement to further accelerate the pace of the drive. He further emphasized on coordinated and collaborated efforts for complete eradication encroachments from the city.
He asked the business community particularly traders union to join hands with CDA and MCI in anti-encroachment drive. Director Enforcement told the Mayor in a meeting held at CDA Headquarters, that anti-encroachment operations are being conducted all over the city without any discrimination.
He said that momentum of the drive has been increased. During the month of July conducted 125 operations, confiscated 2462 items and collected fine amounting to Rs98,700.
During the operations, illegal 12 rooms, seven boundary walls, two shops, 12 khokhas / tea stall / chapper hotel, 30 building material/scrap depots, seventeen 17 barber set ups, 69 juggies, 59additional encroachments and 14 fruit and vegetable stalls were demolished and nine fruit and vegetable vehicle locked being used for unauthorized / illegal selling of different items. —APP
