The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has re-determined electricity tariff, permitting energy placement companies (Discos) to lift a charges by Rs0.48 per unit.

Nepra took one and half year to confirm a tariff as a sovereign supervision had challenged a preference of Feb 29, 2016, and performed a stay sequence from a Islamabad High Court (IHC). Now, following a justice orders, a regulator authorised a raise.

In case, Discos do not take visual measures, as per procedure, afterwards a 34 paisa per section boost will be practiced in a subsequent year’s tariff and energy multiplication will emanate presentation of annual tariff dynamic by a regulator, Nepra said.

Meanwhile, consumers will be profitable Rs24 billion defaulted volume to accommodate income mandate of Discos. However, Nepra refused to concede Rs235 billion liberation from a consumers to settle volume of round debt by creation it partial of tariff.
