Justin Trudeau’s choice in stockings sparked a jaunty Twitter foe between a stars of Star Wars and Star Trek after a Canadian Prime Minister sported Chewbacca stockings during high-profile appearances in New York City this week.
Star Wars actor Mark Hamill applauded a coming of his Wookie comrade on Trudeau’s socks, tweeting on Thursday it was “another reason” he loves a primary minister.

But Canadian actor William Shatner, who starred in a opposition Star Trek franchise, suggested his feelings were harm by a sock choice, tweeting a weeping emoji and message: “@JustinTrudeau we suspicion we were friends? Chewbacca socks?”
