SAMAA poll: 35% respondents can’t differentiate between real and fake news

After Dr Shahid Masood’s allegations were declared to be false by the State Bank of Pakistan and the Punjab government as the alleged bank accounts of suspect Imran Ali were not found at all, the debate focused on real and fake news. 

Can the people really differentiate between real and fake news on social media and elsewhere? A recent poll conducted by SAMAA TV on Twitter found that 35% of the respondents claimed that they could not differentiate between real and fake news.

A total of 537 votes were cast and 65% of the respondents voted that they could differentiate between real and fake news.
