Drive against sale, flying kites continues

Rawalpindi : The campaign against sale of kites and strings and flying kites is continued in full swing in the city.

Special teams have been constituted to keep a vigil eye on sale and flying of kites in different localities. CPO Rawalpindi, Israr Ahmed Abbasi informed that 320 culprits had been arrested by registering 262 cases against them besides confiscating 110,000 kites, 3900 strings and booked 6 Suzuki vans, 12 motor cycles, one autho riksha, 8 sound speakers, one deck, 2 sound systems and 2 pistols.

Israr Ahmed Abbasi said that there is zero tolerance against all those who had been indulged in this criminal act which has claimed a number of innocent lives due to kite flying. He said that the progress of anti-kite campaign was being reviewed on daily basis.

He asked citizens to point out the sale and flying of kites in their respective areas so that the persons involved in this crime could be apprehended under the law.
