Malala arrives in Pakistan amid tight security
London: Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai arrived at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Islamabad late on Wednesday .
According to sources, Malala will stay in Pakistan for four days.
During her four-day stay, Malala will hold meeting with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and other dignitaries in Pakistan.
She will arrive in a special plane, sources said.
Sources further said Malala will be arriving in Islamabad along with her father Ziauddin Yousafzai.
It is her first visit to Pakistan after she was targeted by Taliban gunmen in 2012 in Swat.
Malala is a Pakistani activist for female education and the youngest Nobel Prize laureate. She is known for human rights advocacy, especially the education of women and children in her native Swat Valley in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where Taliban had at times banned girls from attending school.
On 9 October 2012, a Taliban gunman shot Malala while she was returning home on a bus after taking an exam in Swat Valley.
On 10 October 2014, Yousafzai was announced as the co-recipient of the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize for her struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education. Having received the prize at the age of 17, Yousafzai is the youngest Nobel laureate.
