In SAMAA TV’s especial election programme, the ‘Rickshaw Jatt’ attempted to reach out to voters and candidates of NA-62 in Rawalpindi.
“We requested Awami Muslim League leader Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, who is running for the seat, to join us but he declined. Now we have PML-N candidate Daniyal Chaudhry with us,” Jatt said, kicking off of his trip to the city.
Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has won this seat six times in previous elections. He is now facing Senator Chaudhry Tanveer’s son, Daniyal Chaudhry.
When asked how much advantage you have being a political family’s member, Chaudhry said “my family rendered sacrifices for the party and always raised pubic issues.”
“I’m receiving love and support from every segment of the society, and hoped that the victory will be ours,” said optimistic Chaudhry, while travel in the rickshaw.
He claimed that Sheikh Rashid has ignored this constituency.
Chaudhry is confident that he will win the seat with a margin of more than 50,000 votes.
Meanwhile, the ‘Rickshaw Jatt’ got two of the area voters onboard his vehicle. They seemed to be unhappy with Imran Khan and Asif Ali Zardari, but had a soft corner for Nawaz Sharif.
“Nawaz Sharif is a good, mature and soft-spoken person. He has the passion for Pakistan,” said one of the voters.
