Correction: Former PPP workers support PML-Zia in Bahawalnagar

In the absence of a PPP candidate from Bahawalnagar, former party office holders and workers have decided to support the Pakistan Muslim League-Zia, SAMAA TV reported Thursday.

“We have decided to support PML-Z candidate Ijazul Haq,” said PPP’s former party office holder Umar Draz Wattoo at a press conference in Bahawalnagar.

Haq is the son of former military dictator General Ziaul Haq.

He said that the workers have made this decision independently.

Responding to the report, a PPP spokesperson said Wattoo is no longer associated with the party and left 20 years ago.
