Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Saqib Nisar, has taken notice of a speech delivered by the Islamabad High Court judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui at the Rawalpindi Bar Association.
The judge had alleged that intelligence agencies are interfering in the country’s judicial affairs.
Officials said the CJP has directed the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority to submit a complete record of Justice Siddiqui’s speech.
The Inter-Services Public Relations, via Twitter on Sunday, requested the Supreme Court of Pakistan to “initiate appropriate process to ascertain the veracity of the allegations” made by Justice Siddiqui.
“An honourable judge has leveled serious allegations against state institutions including, judiciary and the premier state intelligence agency,” tweeted DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor.
