Jailed PML-N leader’s son says their contest is with the PTI, not Chaudhry Nisar

PML-N leader Raja Qamarul Islam is in jail. Yet his election campaign in Rawalpindi’s NA-59 has continued unhindered since his 12-year-old son, Salar Islam, took the reins.

“I set out for the campaign at 7am and sometimes get home by 1am or 2am,” he told SAMAA TV reporter Abbas Shabbir while taking a bike ride in the constituency.

When asked if he was dismissing Chaudhry Nisar, who is contesting the election as an independent candidate, Salar said that it was not him but the people living in the constituency who say that. “Our contest is with the other party,” he said. “The truth will win on July 25.”
