NA-243 Karachi

NA-243 is one of the most sought-after seats in Karachi as the PTI is pitting its chief, Imran Khan, against the MQM’s Ali Raza Abidi who is more active on Twitter than most Karachi-based leaders.

The PTI conducted its election campaign under the slogan, ‘Wazir-e-Azam Karachi se’ [A PM from Karachi]. On the other hand, an embattled MQM chose the slogan, ‘Diya jalaye rakhna hai’ [We must keep the lamp lit].

There are other contestants in the race. The PPP fielded its heavy-weight, Shehla Raza, who served as the deputy speaker of the Sindh Assembly from 2013 to 2018.
