Zubaida Jalal becomes the only woman to win the election from Balochistan

The number of women who contested the election from Balochistan was very few and the number who actually won was non-existent. Just one female candidate won from Balochistan – Zubaida Jalal.

Jalal contested and won the NA-271 Kech and Turbat seat on the Balochistan Awami Party’s ticket.

She beat BNP-Awami’s Syed Ahsan Shah by getting 32,886 votes to his 20,583.

Jalal served as the federal education minister in then prime minister Shaukat Aziz’s cabinet.
