Gor Khatri museum goes after man demolishing historic Peshawar building

The City Museum of Gor Khatri has asked the police to register an FIR against a man who is demolishing a historic building.

Ahmed Faraz, who is in charge of the museum, has written to the SHO of Kotwali police station asking for a case to be registered against a man identified as Ali Raza Khan.

In the application, the museum said that Mr Khan applied for permission to work on a house in Mohallah Maghoola Bazaar-e-Kala House.

It is a historic building with grand intricate wooden work still intact. The building has two stories.

The director of Archaeology Museums gave an NoC but Mr Khan stared demolishing the historical building, violating the rules of the Antiquity Act of 2016.
