Islamabad: The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) has allocated 74 scholarships amounting to Rs18.8 million for the International Islamic University (IIU) students.
These scholarships are part of the PEEF’s new master’s level scholarship programme under the title of the Shahbaz Sharif Merit Scholarships for the current academic year 2016-17.
A total of 1,000 fully-funded scholarships will be offered to the outstanding students enrolled in Masters, M.Phil and MS degree programmes in top universities of the country. The university’s administration appreciated the efforts of additional director (academics) Syed Naveed Ehtisham and his team for securing these scholarships.
Meanwhile, the IIU and Indonesia’s Darunnajah foundation have agreed to mutually cooperate in the field of education by signing a MoU in various disciplines and by preparing a roadmap for exchange of faculty and launch joint training programmes.
The development came as a high-level Indonesian delegation headed by ambassador Iwan Suyudhie Amri and Darunnajah School System principal Dr. Sofwan Manaf visited the IIU and met its acting president Dr. Muhammad Bashir Khan, vice president Dr. Muhammad Munir, director (academics) Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalily, director general Khalid Mehmood Raja and senior staff members.
