Former cricketer Moin Khan said that Pakistan’s dismal performance in the Asia Cup 2018 was a lesson for the team.
The wicket-keeper batsman was speaking to the media during the World Cup trophy exhibition at Karachi’s National Stadium on Sunday.
Khan said there are “ups and downs” in team performances.
He urged the cricket board to retain Sarfraz Ahmed as skipper for the next year’s mega event. “There is no doubt in his leadership skills,” he said. “He has given match-winning performances in the past.”
Khan said Pakistan was lucky to have a skipper like Imran Khan when it became world champions in 1992. He added, “No one believed that we would win the tournament.”
He advised Sarfraz XI to believe that the World Cup “belongs” to them.
