2 criminals escape from custody of Golra police

ISLAMABAD   –  Two dangerous criminals – both Afghan nationals – have escaped from Golra police custody after their accomplices attacked a police party taking the duo to hospital for medical treatment last night, informed sources on Thursday. The criminals, identified as Jalal alias Khapalwalk Tol and Bilal alias Tol Walk, were to be taken to Peshawar after a court procedure, they said.

Reportedly, the accomplices of the two criminals fired at Islamabad police. However, the cops remained unhurt.

SSP Operations Islamabad Dr Syed Mustafa Tanweer said a manhunt has been launched to arrest the two fleeing criminals besides holding an inquiry into the incident.

According to sources, Peshawar police raided in E-11 Sector and held two most wanted criminals and gave them into custody of Golra police on Wednesday last. 

They said in the night, the duo had appealed police to take them to hospital as they are feeling pain in abdomen. A police party was transporting the two criminals to hospital when their accomplices intercepted the cops. The armed goons obtained forceful release of two criminals and escaped from scene, they said.

Sources said the two criminals were involved in murder and attempted murder cases and wanted by Peshawar police.

Meanwhile, IG Islamabad Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman has taken notice of the incident and ordered SDPO Saddar Circle Sajjad Bukhari to hold inquiry into incident and to submit his report.
