RAWALAKOT: For 12-year-old Yasra, her life darkened after she mislaid a leg in cross-border shelling by Indian infantry in Rawlakot district of Azad Kashmir.
But her grin returned a few months after when, on a instructions of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, she was treated during a Rawalpindi sanatorium and propitious with a prosthetic leg.
Now means to travel and play again, Yasra’s small universe has regained a mislaid colours.
“I am excellent now. we am really happy to get a new leg. we can play once again. we would like to appreciate [Army] Chief uncle for [giving me] a new leg,” she told Geo News.
Yasra mislaid her leg when a bombard dismissed by Indian army in Battal Sector of Rawlakot district final year gave her life-threatening injuries. COAS General Bajwa, on holding notice of her condition, organised for her medical diagnosis in Rawalpindi.
She was propitious with a new prosthetic prong on Nov 12, and has given reclaimed her aged life.
Her parents, gay with their daughter’s newfound health, voiced their thankfulness for a Army Chief and pronounced they are happy to see Yasra smiling and shouting once again.
