After serious allegations, Imran Khan vows to emerge ‘stronger’
NEWS DESK: MNA Ayesha Gulalai leveled scathing allegations against PTI chief Imran Khan on Tuesday. She accused him of sexual harassment in text messages, termed PTI an ‘anti-women’ party and blamed K-P CM for corruption. She even challenged Imran Khan to make public his exchange of text messages with Gulalai on his Blackberry phone. The PTI chief’s much-awaited response to the allegations surfaced on Twitter Wednesday night.
He wrote: “My challenge to Sharif-MSR mafia is: Do your worst; stoop as low as you can; me my struggle-hardened party will become ever stronger IA.”

Without directing addressing the harassment charges, Imran Khan blamed the ‘Sharif-MSR mafia’, adding that he and his party will become stronger.

On Wednesday, PTI’s central media coordinator, Javed Badar, sent a legal notice to Ayesha Gulalai for her allegations against Imran Khan. The letter urged Ayesha Gulalai to produce evidence of the claims she had made regarding cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan. In case of failure to provide evidence, the letter required Ayesha Gulalai to apologise to Imran Khan for false accusations.

The same day, Raja Basharat Mehmood filed an application before the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), calling for the disqualification of PTI chief Imran Khan over allegations of harassment leveled against him by Ayesha Gulalai.

According to the application, Imran should be disqualified from NA membership and by-election should be held in NA-56.
Ayesha Gulalai has been facing a malicious smear campaign on social media since she held a press conference to talk about the harassment charges. Her family members are being targeted while some Twitter users have even issued threats of acid attacks to the female MNA.
