Alleged rape victim dies in hospital

RAWALPINDI – A woman battling for life in a hospital after suffering fatal knife cuts by a man in Mahota Mohra died on Sunday, informed sources. The accused Wajid Jadoon had also stabbed her 14-month-old baby to death besides raping her in suburbs of Chontra, sources said. Police have launched a manhunt to arrest the accused after filing a case with Police Station Chontra. City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younas has taken the notice of the incident and ordered SSP Investigation, SSP Operations and SP Saddar Division to utilised all resources to trace out killer. Sources disclosed that several police teams have also been constituted by top cop tasking them to arrest the killer. Moreover, the police have also sought help and assistance from intelligence agencies to trace the killer. 

Taking to The Nation, CPO Muhammad Ahsan Younas said police are making efforts to arrest the killer. 

He said crime against children and women would not be tolerated at any cost. He said the case is complicated and police are investigating it through different angles.
