ANF seizes 5028kg drugs, arrest 29 peddlers
Islamabad : Around 5028.809 kg narcotics valuing Rs3.902 million internationally has been seized with arrest of 29 accused including two proclaimed offenders and two females under a special campaign.
The campaign against the menace has been launched as per direction of Director General, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), Major General Muhammad Arif Malik.
Conducting 24 counter-narcotic strikes throughout the country, the Force also impounded five vehicles.
The seized drugs comprised 4944.966 Kg Hashish, 60 Kg Opium, 17.043 Kg Heroin and 6.8 Kg Methamphetamine.
As per details issued here, ANF Quetta recovered 3719 Kg Hashish from general area of Killi Dargai, Tehsil Gulistan, Qilla Abdullah district. Moreover, a Crown Saloon car and an AK-47 along with magazine and 12 live rounds were also seized from the location.
As per initial investigation, the recovered drug was kept hidden for distribution at local level and smuggling abroad on provision of safe signal.
In an intelligence based operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted ISUZU Mini Truck at Exit point of Motorway Toll Plaza, M-1, Islamabad and recovered 24 Kg Hashish concealed in tool box of the truck.
Tariq Mehmood, resident of Faisalabad and Ghulam Qamar, resident of Nankana Sahib were arrested on the spot during the operation.
In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Honda Civic car at Taraki Toll Plaza, Main GT Road, Sohawa, Jehlum and recovered 10 Kg Hashish concealed in secret cavities of vehicle.
A person Kamran Khan, resident of Mardan was also arrested on the spot.
In third, intelligence based operation, ANF Rawalpindi intercepted a Suzuki Mehran car near exit gate Ghouri Town Phase-V, Islamabad and recovered 5 Kg Hashish during the operation.
Khan Nawaz, Noor Gul both, resident of Khyber Agency, Komal, Laiba and Sudais Khan (3 years old) all resident of Swabi were arrested from the vehicle. Three kg of drug were recovered from personal possession of lady accused Komal and two kg from the vehicle.
In fourth operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested Abdul Hakeem, resident of Hangu from Islamabad International Airport and recovered 1.29 Kg Hashish concealed in packing material of his luggage.
The arrested accused intended to fly for Doha by Qatar Airways Flight NoQR-633. In fifth operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested Zeenat Ullah, resident of Islamabad from Islamabad International Airport and recovered 540 Gram Hashish from his trolley bag.
The arrested accused intended to fly for Karachi by flight NoPK-301. In sixth operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested Sami Ullah, resident of Peshawar from Islamabad International Airport and recovered 700 Gram Amphetamine from his travelling bag.
The arrested accused intended to fly for Riyadh (KSA) by flight NoEK-615. ANF Lahore arrested Muhammad Asghar and Ghulam Haider both resident of Multan from Old Shujaabad Road, Multan and recovered 2.6 Kg Hashish from their personal possession.
