SRINAGAR: Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and world over are observing Black Day on Friday (October 27) to mark the illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir by India.
It was on this day in 1947 when the Indian Army landed in Srinagar Airport.
A complete shutdown is being observed in Occupied Kashmir and rallies are being taken out in world capitals.
Call for the shutdown has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership – Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Yasin Malik – and pro-freedom organizations.
In Muzaffarabad, main protest demonstration will be held at District Complex followed by a protest rally.
On the other hand, Indian authorities have imposed restrictions in various areas of Occupied Kashmir to prevent the protests.
Heavy contingents of the state police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in full riot gear were seen disallowing pedestrian and vehicular movement in many areas.
Railway services in the Kashmir valley have also been suspended on Friday. – Samaa
