Call for help
KARACHI: Recently, there have been too many cases about woe inflicted on domestic helpers, generally ones who are underneath a age of 10. Tayyaba’s woe box act by a hands of a judge’s mother started a amicable media conflict that led a courts to holding some dire decisions. However, abuse of domestic helpers is still prevalent in a multitude that reeks of a colonial mindset.
In my vicinity, that is deliberate to be one of Karachi’s posh localities, domestic helpers as small as six-year-old are hired to take caring of a various chores of a household. Although many of my neighbours take good caring of their helpers, we can’t repudiate a fact that contracting someone underneath a age of 14 is itself child labour. But what’s worse is that a few days ago we listened cries of one of these helpers entrance from my neighbour’s house. we ran towards a patio and could hear a small lady pleading and seeking for an reparation from her vicious masters who were violence her over matters unknown. we took adult a bravery and yelled during them. This done them stop and a small lady came on her side of a patio to yowl in solitude.
But we consider this is not adequate as this could make them abuse a lady when we am not around or worse ask her to stop pleading or great out shrill for others to hear. Is there a correct functioning establishment in place where we could board such complaints? Or maybe a helpline that we could immediately call and design them to attend to my censure during their earliest?
